Tracer Wire
Tracer wire is suitable for direct burial to facilitate the detection and tracing of underground utility systems by carrying a locator signal. The wire may be identified by surface printing indicating manufacturer and conductor size. Custom legends are available.
Standards & Specifications
- Solid copper conductor per ASTM B3
- Standard insulation colors are yellow and blue. Other colors subject to minimum run quantities.
- High Molecular Weight Polythylene Insulation
- Insulation meets ASTM D-1248, Type 1, Category 4, Grade E4 and E5
- ARRA 2009 Section 1605 “Buy America” compliant
- UL 2989 Tracer Wire
- Rated for 60° C, 600V for .045 insulation thickness
- Rated for 60° C, 30V for .030 insulation thickness
